“Web-Labs have built three applications for the GMC the first is a web site using our e-Forms to display the results of surveys carried out by Post Medical Education Training Board(PMETB) of the GMC. The web site has a number of different reports for surveys carried out in conjunction with the trainee doctors and the trainer’s of the doctors. The system allows comparisons between specific groups like a Hospital Trust and then compares its results against the national averages in a number of different indicators, or compares a specific indicator against other hospitals in its area or comparison group.
 

All of this information can be put into a single PDF automatically creating an easy to read management and statistical report. A further web site was built by Web-Labs using the FormsMaster product to allow PMETB and GMC to create yearly survey forms for trainee doctors to complete. This task involves publishing email requests to all the trainee doctors in the UK. The doctors then complete the survey on-line using e-forms if the survey is not completed on time an automatic email reminder is sent requesting them to complete the survey.
 

Surveys are also carried out for the trainers of the doctors. These surveys are very complex and can comprise of hundreds of questions, with the trainee’s being asked different questions dependant on their specialist area and the ability to ‘park’ partially completed e-forms and return to complete at a later date.

The third web site was built to facilitate the online registration for the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). The web site integrates with other 3rd party systems to validate the registration details of the individuals who require the CCT. It requires applicants to give details about their specialities, and requests them to upload a passport photo, and their CV. Once all of the details have been completed, payment is made for the certificate via an online payment engine integrated with the web site.”

“Local Democracy, Economy Development and Construction Bill” 

Queens Speech 2009 on Wednesday 11^th of November saw the proposal of many Government Bills.  Debatably many of these Bills will come to fruition with the onset of the coming General Election which will be followed by more proposed legislation.  

One piece of legislation though that certainly will see an outcome that looks likely to be an Act of Parliament  is “Local Democracy, Economy Development and Construction Bill” which is now in its final Parliamentary stage.  Proposed legislation will see Local Authorities enhance there abilities online as well as there democratic services.  Councils will be able to distribute an e-petition facility, publishing scheme for both online and offline coverage.  However, response and feedback for any petition is needed which is one of the key objectives of the Bill.
