Web Self Service is now at the forefront of Local Authorities thinking after the Chancellor’s last budget in April when £15 Billion of Public Sector thinking (or saving) was at the forefront of Government financial plans in the years ahead. Councils across the land have been putting into action plans to use there online service to improve their offerings and save costs.

Problem lies with the fact although the web offers a clear way to successfully delivering a service it is not usually done with a clear plan of how and why.  Thought on Corporate Focus is not always delivered on or put into action there fore a lack of the Councils culture and what the resident will be looking to achieve when searching online is perhaps not considered. Result being a low satisfaction return for the resident and poor performance rating for the Local Authority!
